Deadly Desires…

Okay, due to some confusion, I’m redoing the Deadly Desires post.

:)

This is just an FYI post.

There will be a contest tomorrow-ish.

The bloggers who did post about it have been notified.

So… Larissa, Stephanie and I sorta went and snuck this one out.

DeadlyDesires72dpi

These titles were previously released in one of the Mammoth collections.

They have been expanded and revised for the digital release.

Danger. Deceit. Desire.

Don’t Walk Away

by Shiloh Walker

Ten years ago, former Army Ranger Ethan Raintree made one hell of choice…keep on lying, or tell the woman he loved the truth. He decided to tell the truth, and she threw him out of her life. He never stopped loving her, not stopped wanting her. Celeste Harper finally had everything she wanted—or so she thought. She’d escaped her past. She’d escaped her demons. But she couldn’t escape herself…or the man she’d left behind all those years ago. Looking into his eyes ten years later, she realizes it’s her turn to make a choice—let go of that pain and take him back. Or walk away…and face a future without him.

Code Word: Storm

by Sydney Croft

The extremely secret Agency for Covert Rare Operatives is the only thing that stands between the human race and complete chaos. Now, two agents with special abilities, Annika Svenson and Creed McCabe, are sent to stop a man who has harnessed the power of the supernatural world. But Creed and Annika have a history that puts them at odds — and in closer, hotter contact than they’d like. In this ACRO story, which falls in the series timeline between Riding the Storm and Unleashing the Storm, Annika and Creed grow closer, despite their resistance. And with their lives are on the line, they find they must not only work together, but be together, or risk a terrifying fate that could consume them both…

Amazon | BN  | ARe | Smashwords

These two short stories contain hot guys, determined women and some sexiness. Please note…they have been previously published, but we did add some new material.

Soooo… the original plan was that we would get it up for pre-order and all that jazz, and then I thought maybe I’d try to get it up for RT…and then…um.  Well.  Best laid plans never work well for us, it seems.

Instead, hey!  We haz book.

Please note, these two stories are not new.  They have been previously released but we did expand them a little.

Kobo, Sony, iBookstore, etc are coming.  Can’t give dates as that depends on when they get the titles uploaded.  Thanks!

Just a few more days…

A mini snippet from STOLEN…

Tears burned her eyes but she blinked them away. Filing the email, she put the phone down and covered her face with her hands.

Can you tell us what happened…?

No…

She sat there and shuddered. Do you remember…

No. She didn’t. But a part of her was trying to, and she really dreaded the day those memories finally crept into the open.

Have you checked out the blog tour?  Lots of prizes!

Some Qs:

Will this be in audio?

I have no idea.  I just now had my first audio deal and I suspect future audio deals depend on a book’s popularity.  I’m very far from the point that audio is a given.  I won’t know until/if an offer is made.

Will this be available digitally in the UK?

Yes! This time, I knew, in advance, there were going to be odd things with the UK digital distribution so I prepared.  You can preorder it now via

Amazon Kindle UK

think it’s available for preorder on the iBookstore, but I can’t check that.

Is this connected to another series?

No.  I know it kind of looks like it might be, but it’s not at all related to the Ash books.

So those are the Qs I’ve gotten asked a lot.

Just a word of warning…this book is pretty dark.  The heroine went through hell and she’s probably even more screwed up than Devon from FRAGILE.  If you want a nice, safe read…this isn’t it.

Blade Song…Now out…

Thud… new book. Out today. Available pretty much across the globe.

You can buy it here…here… here…here….hereherheerereerhherherhe…

Um.  Excuse me.  My brain melted.

It SHOULD be at

ARe | Smashwords | Amazon | BN | iBookstore | Kobo and other places…

(It’s available at a NUMBER of international platforms, including Kobo.  Please check.  I can’t keep track of all and it also takes a few days for all the data to roll through and get posted)

About the book!

Patricia Briggs thinks you should read it…

“Do yourself a favor and read this book.  This story is original and hard-hitting with terrific world building and some of the best characters I’ve read.  Yum.” Patricia Briggs, author of the #1 NYTimes Mercy Thompson series

Kit Colbana—half breed, assassin, thief, jack of all trades—has a new job: track down the missing ward of one of the local alpha shapeshifters. It should be a piece of cake.

So why is she so nervous? It probably has something to do with the insanity that happens when you deal with shifters—especially sexy ones who come bearing promises of easy jobs and easier money.

Or maybe it’s all the other missing kids that Kit discovers while working the case, or the way her gut keeps screaming she’s gotten in over her head. Or maybe it’s because if she fails—she’s dead.

If she can stay just one step ahead, she should be okay. Maybe she’ll even live long to collect her fee…

EXCERPT

Through the roar of blood in my ears, I heard Damon swearing. That was kind of funny. There were four of them and he was cussing them out?

But then one of them howled… A death scream. One that made the skin on my nape crawl as I slashed through the air with my blade.

She was made like a rapier, but heavier. I could hack away for hours if I had to, and the fool in front of me was bleeding from more cuts than even I could count; he was either too weak or too underfed to heal them well. He made another lunge at me and I drove the blade through his heart, twisting it and jerking upward. Skin smoked as it met the silver and I watched as the life in his eyes faded.

Jerking my blade free, I turned, braced for another attack.

All I saw was Damon. Walking toward me with blood dripping off him, falling in fat drops from his fingers.

“Show off,” I muttered.

A flash of white appeared in his face. I almost thought he was smiling.

But that faint smile was gone in another second as shadows came rushing at us from all around.

I found myself shoved to the ground.

There was a rumbling sound—something I couldn’t identify.

And another sound—one I could.

The ground was shaking, I thought. As I pushed up onto my elbows, I saw a giant shape rushing into the alley.

Goliath.

Hell was about to break loose.

Then a cat roared and I heard somebody scream. Maybe it already had.

As the fighting raged over my head, I rolled to the side and flexed my wrist. My blade was gone. I managed to get my back to the wall of the busted, broken building behind me, using it for support and shadow as I surveyed the mess in front of me.

Five, six, seven—yeah. Seven scraggly wolves fighting Goliath and Damon. The wolves had shifted. Damon and Goliath hadn’t. Two wolves were trying to take Goliath down and he casually caught one, ripped its head off. My gut went a little queasy at the sight.

The second one didn’t fare much better.

Damon wasn’t quite so casual.

Quick, brutal.

But for every one they took down, several more came crawling out of the shadows.

What the hell—?

Panting for breath, I flexed my wrist and called my blade.

Off to the side, I heard a snarl.

The wolf came for me just as I turned to face it.

I never even got my blade up.

I came to at the bright flare of light.

It wasn’t the light that woke me.

It was the pain.

Ripping through my side and eating its way through my veins. I choked back the scream as TJ leaned over me. “Damn, girl. You did it again, didn’t you?”

I glared at her. Or tried to. The tears in my eyes were pretty much blinding me.

“Get the fuck back.”

Well. One thing was clear. I wasn’t dying, because if I was, no way would I be hearing that voice. Even if I was going straight to hell, I’d be deluding myself with angel song to the very end. So if I was hearing the demonic Damon that must mean the wolf bite on my side wasn’t fatal.

His face appeared in my line of sight and I closed my eyes.

“Stupid little fool!” His voice cut through the pained shrieking in my head. But the hands on my side were gentle. “Shit…shit, shit, this is bad—”

Also… I think I’m over here today, blog-tour wise… ;)

Now available…LOCKED IN SILENCE…

(The Grimm Giveaway contest winners will be posted by the end of the month.)

)

Silence’s mouth quirked in a smile. He put his glass down and signed, We all get the identities we need to move in this world. You’ll get one. Will probably already has one in place for you.

“Hmmm. And I noticed that wasn’t an answer.” She shrugged. Sliding off the couch, she said, “That’s okay. I kind of like Silence better than Eustache anyway. Still, I wouldn’t mind knowing your real name.”

“I don’t know my real name.” He turned away from her.

She froze, staring at him. She knew her mouth had fallen open, was vaguely aware that she was staring at him in numb, horrified shock. But she couldn’t help it.

Any more than she could help the pain ripping through her.

“You…” She stopped, licked her lips. Tried again. “You don’t know your name?”

He looked back over his shoulder at her. With a jerky shrug, he spoke quietly into her mind. “There is a name I was given at birth, but whatever it was, I’ve long forgotten it. Eustache is simply one of the names I go by when I must give a name. To those who matter, I am simply Silence.”

To those who matter, Vanya thought.

With a tiny smile, she murmured, “So, does that mean I’m one who matters?”

“Of course,” he said, his voice soft, quiet.

She started across the carpet, her feet sinking into it.

“After all, you’re my student. You matter very much.”

Those words slashed across her heart.

She almost stumbled. Almost faltered.

Student… Vanya stilled, staring at him as she repeated that word silently to herself. She was a student. His student.

Yeah, his lover too. But mostly, he just saw her as his student.

His responsibility.

Fuck.

She couldn’t do this.

Did you review it?  Wanna share your link for my readers? Leave it in comments…any fair review welcome.  By fair, I mean an honest opinion where you’re not calling me a stupidhead, etc. If you wanna do that, feel free, I’m not going to say you can’t…except I will say you can’t do that on my blog.  As long as you keep it about the book, I’m fine with it reviews, opinions positive or negative.
