Deadly Desires…

Kindle

Okay, due to some confusion, I’m redoing the Deadly Desires post.

:)

This is just an FYI post.

There will be a contest tomorrow-ish.

The bloggers who did post about it have been notified.

So… Larissa, Stephanie and I sorta went and snuck this one out.

DeadlyDesires72dpi

These titles were previously released in one of the Mammoth collections.

They have been expanded and revised for the digital release.

Danger. Deceit. Desire.

Don’t Walk Away

by Shiloh Walker

Ten years ago, former Army Ranger Ethan Raintree made one hell of choice…keep on lying, or tell the woman he loved the truth. He decided to tell the truth, and she threw him out of her life. He never stopped loving her, not stopped wanting her. Celeste Harper finally had everything she wanted—or so she thought. She’d escaped her past. She’d escaped her demons. But she couldn’t escape herself…or the man she’d left behind all those years ago. Looking into his eyes ten years later, she realizes it’s her turn to make a choice—let go of that pain and take him back. Or walk away…and face a future without him.

Code Word: Storm

by Sydney Croft

The extremely secret Agency for Covert Rare Operatives is the only thing that stands between the human race and complete chaos. Now, two agents with special abilities, Annika Svenson and Creed McCabe, are sent to stop a man who has harnessed the power of the supernatural world. But Creed and Annika have a history that puts them at odds — and in closer, hotter contact than they’d like. In this ACRO story, which falls in the series timeline between Riding the Storm and Unleashing the Storm, Annika and Creed grow closer, despite their resistance. And with their lives are on the line, they find they must not only work together, but be together, or risk a terrifying fate that could consume them both…

Amazon | BN  | ARe | Smashwords

These two short stories contain hot guys, determined women and some sexiness. Please note…they have been previously published, but we did add some new material.

Soooo… the original plan was that we would get it up for pre-order and all that jazz, and then I thought maybe I’d try to get it up for RT…and then…um.  Well.  Best laid plans never work well for us, it seems.

Instead, hey!  We haz book.

Please note, these two stories are not new.  They have been previously released but we did expand them a little.

Kobo, Sony, iBookstore, etc are coming.  Can’t give dates as that depends on when they get the titles uploaded.  Thanks!

Yay! Drake made it!

Kindle

Drake Bennett from Beg Me made it to the next round of Summer’s Hottest Hero! That means…votes are open again, and you can vote again!

IMPORTANT…Seriously.  Er…pretty please, guys…only vote once. Please don’t offer or try to vote more than once. Yes, I’m competitive as hell, but if I win something, I wanna know I won fair and square. I can’t win fair and square if people are voting more than once-I don’t even like offers of extra votes.

You can go vote again, though, now.  It’s round three, the slate is clean and everybody gets to vote again!  Yay! Go, vote!  And if you vote for me?  Awesome!!!!  Is contest! I like contests!  And if I win?  I win cool stuffs!  I like winning cool stuffs!  It makes me happy…

And now…since I skipped the Friday 56 for this shameless bit of self promo-I shall post a mini excerpt from the current WIP.  It’s a Hunter book.  Dunno about the release date.  Will post when I know.

Stroking the edge of her knife with her thumb, she eased her way into the darker shadows of the room.

Even before she saw the moonlight shining off his pale hair, she knew.

He was down there, in the backyard, waiting for her.  And damn it.  He’d hauled her bike out.  Bastard.  He was leaning against it, leather stretching over those long thighs, a black T-shirt clinging to his lean chest.  He had that blond hair pulled back in a neat tail at the nape of his neck and he looked good enough to eat.  In many, many ways.

Her fangs pulsed.

Lower, much lower, other things pulsed.  Because she knew he’d be aware, she figured she’d hide one hunger within another. Standing in the open window sill, keeping her knife hand free , she murmured, “Oh, look.  It’s Meals on Wheels.”

He grinned at her.  And then he leaped. Sylvia fell back, moving away from the window even as part of her wished she could stand there and just watch him move—

She pulled another knife, but didn’t bother hiding that one.  He’d go for the one she’d left in open view, she hoped.

He came through the window, almost silent, a grin on his lips, his blue eyes glinting with humor.  That hot, rich scent of his flooded her head and suddenly, she had to swallow.  It was that, or start drooling.

“Delivery service.”  She waggled her knife at him.  “I like that.”

“That mouth of yours ever get you in trouble, Sylvia?”

Summer’s Hottest Hero

Kindle

7/15/2011 UPDATED!!! Drake made it to round three.  Voting is open again, you can vote again.  Please, guys, only vote once per round.  I’m competitive as hell, I admit. But I only want to win if I can do it fairly.

All Romance Ebooks is having a contest for Summer’s Hottest Hero and DRAKE from Beg Me is in the running.

Quickie excerpt… you can read the rest here.

“I want to ask you for a favor,” she said, staring at him over her wine glass.

Drake told himself he could get through this—he told himself he wasn’t about to lose it, thinking about how sexy and sweet she looked in a short, flippy little tan skirt that left too much leg bare. He told himself he wasn’t all but drooling as he thought about the breasts under her close-fitting, clingy black top. He also told himself the dinner had been delicious, but he couldn’t remember what it tasted like or what he’d even eaten twenty minutes ago. Some kind of chicken. He thought. Or maybe pork. Right?

No, he was too focused on Tania, and the fact that she was sitting three feet away from him. Too focused on the fact that his cock was throbbing like a bad tooth and had been ever since she’d let him into her apartment an hour earlier.

Her words rang in his mind. She needed help—finally, though, something real, something physical he could focus on. That would really help. Maybe her car needed a tune-up, that was easy, although why she’d felt the need to cook for him just to ask for that, he didn’t know.

“Anything.” He tipped his beer bottle back, wetting his throat. Fuck it, she looked so beautiful. She was sitting so close, he could smell the scent of the lotion she’d slicked all over her skin. Good enough to eat, and that’s just what he wanted to do, too.

She grimaced and said, “Maybe you should put the beer down. Stop drinking for a minute because I don’t want you to choke when I ask.”

“Okay.” He smirked a little and leaned forward, setting the bottle on the table. “Although I don’t know what you could ask that would surprise me that much, Tania.”

“Five years ago.”

Okay—maybe I was wrong. She can surprise me.

UTA… Yes. I would like your votes. :)

My selfpublished titles and time

Kindle

Just a note… my selfpublished/indie titles take a lot of time. I don’t always have a lot of time. I get the basic formats because those are the quickest to get, PDF, HTML, LIT, EPUB… they work or can easily be made to work for most, if not all, readers.  I don’t tend to send out to many (if any) review sites, other than doing the occasional call for reviews on twitter.

There is a lot more work that’s involved in doing a title solo-I got to figure out the cover art and since it’s just me and the graphic artist, that usually involves me spending hours searching over stock art sites.

Edits involve me figuring out which editor, since I’m still trying to figure out the freelance edit thing-I think I’m looking for a ‘perfect’ fit, and finding freelance editors isn’t as easy as dropping by the store for eggs.  So it’s not just sending the book to get edited.

Then it’s formatting the book-not even getting it in the right file, but formatting the original and for me, that takes hours.  Then getting the various files and that’s another time consuming task.

All of this adds up to a lot of work.  I have to fit it in around a workload that is sheer chaos.  I have a novella due in July, two full-length books due by fall and that’s not touching on any books I may try to do for my epubs, if I do any.  So, unfortunately, I can only spare so much time for the indie stuff-things like going with the basic files, not spending hours worrying about reviews or file conversion services, etc-I can’t do that if I’m going to keep up with my workload.

If I have to choose between being pressed to do all of that or just shelving any indie work?  Well, the indie work gets shelved for the time being.  I’m contracted to finish certain books by certain dates and those do have to come first.

I do what I can, but the time involved in doing it yourself is mind-boggling…and I can only do so much.  I hope you understand…if there are certain things I can get around to when time allows, I will, but it has to wait it’s turn in line.  And it’s a scary long line.  :O/

Hunt Me…

Kindle

This is an independent project, one of the Wicked Reads.

It’s had a cover.

Now it has a blurb…

She’s been keeping secrets…

Drew Quentin has been crazy about sexy Dakota Coulter from the moment he met her, but after two years of dating, he still doesn’t have her phone number. Sooner or later, a man has to move on.

That was the plan. But the night he broke things off, things went from bad to worse…and he figured out some of her secrets…bloodthirsty secrets.

Dakota Coulter is having a lousy night.  The man she loves just broke up with her.  And she can’t even take an hour to sulk, because duty calls—and as a Hunter, she must answer.

Being a vampire is hell on the love life, that’s for sure.  But it will get better, right?  Just do the job, get out of town and oh…avoid the ex-lover who is suddenly out to track her down. Too bad a happy reunion is soooo not on his mind.

This is a shorter story, due out in May in ebook-probably at Nook, Kindle & All Romance Ebooks.  It may end up in print, but I don’t know the specifics.  Details on that will be posted when/if I have them available

Saturday Snippets…Hunt Me

Kindle

From an indie…a Hunter’s story, a very short one.  Nooooo, this doesn’t mean I’m going back to doing Hunters in ebook.  Sorry, this was a special group thing and it just worked out that way. Due out in May…

“Hello, gorgeous.”

The low, rich purr of her voice was enough to have Drew Quentin shifting in the miserable, busted chair. He also had to fight the urge to smile as he reminded himself he’d decided to ends things with one Dakota Coulter, the sexy, mysterious brunette.

He wanted her, he was halfway in love with her…and she refused to so much as give him her damn phone number.

He could have handled that.

But the cop in him was a little bit disturbed by the fact that Dakota Coulter had a past that was just a little too mysterious. Oh, her background check held up—too well, actually. Something about her just had his instincts quivering.

She wouldn’t open up for him.

“Drew?”

He closed his eyes. “I’m here, Dakota.”

“Having a rough night, sugar?”

The compassion in her voice all but gutted him. Damn it. This would be so much easier if she didn’t care—so much easier if he wasn’t in love with her.

Random…Tempt Me news, Broken & Fragile

Kindle

Quickie random ramble…

I uploaded Tempt Me on ARe / Omnilit. Dunno when I’ll get around to Hunter’s Choice but I’ll get to it sooner or later.  The site is very easy to work with, once you have the books in the formats-if they offered the step on the site, they’d be far away the better choice over Smashwords, other than the fact that they don’t send books out to vendors other than Ibooks.

But it is an easy site and they also don’t go on rants comparing the ‘ebook revolution’ the revolutions that happened in Egypt.

There just a few days left on the signed copies of Broken and Fragile over on ebay-the proceeds will go to benefit earthquake victims in Japan.  The books will be personalized to the winner.  FYI-I’m utterly delighted-the current bid is $61.  The books together are only worth $30.  You all are amazing.

Other news-I think I will soon be getting my life back.  Thank You God.  Those of you who know about that other hat I wear sometimes?  I’m cutting it back to two days a week.  Hopefully soon we can make it one day a week and then maybe … gasp… no.  Better not say it.

Okay.  I rambled enough.

So…you wanna bid on the books Broken and Fragile ?  Or buy Tempt Me AReOmnilit?

Beg Me news…

Kindle

A few things… the first one is just a cool sort of thing…Beg Me has been in the top 100 erotica books on Amazon pretty much since it released in November.

Next thing-I uploaded Beg Me onto All Romance Ebooks/Omnilit yesterday.  For now, this is the only book I’m putting there.  Unfortunately, I have to format all of them or hire the service out-just another thing on a list of many things and before I mess with doing it, I want to make sure it’s going to be worth it.  If Beg Me does well, I’ll add the others when I have time.

Last thing-although not directly tied to Beg Me, I’m playing with an idea involving Lacey, Rocki’s best friend from Tempt Me.  Dunno when/if it get finished, though… O.O
