An all new novel of erotic suspense

They weren’t friends. They weren’t enemies. The only thing the three girls had in common was the high school they went to in Madison, Ohio-until one tragic night. Now, fifteen years later, they’re returning home where passion-and danger-await…

Renee Lincoln was the homecoming queen-with the perfect boyfriend and the perfect life. After that horrible night, she rebelled the only way she knew how: by submitting to her wildest fantasies…

Tall, blonde, and athletic, Lacey Talbot was a golden girl with a bright future. She’s found success as a photographer, but no man has ever been able to satisfy her. No man but the bad boy she left behind…

Sherra Salinger has always looked like a princess out of some fairy tale. The books she writes, though, stem from the nightmare of that one night. And she shrinks from any man’s attention-especially the one stalking her…

They’re coming back to Madison-and it won’t be happy reunion. There are three men, all dangerous in a different way. And when each of them surrender their bodies to the heat, when they succumb to desire, they’ll find the safety they desperately need…

Excerpt (part six)

His voice intruded on her drifting thoughts.  His eyes narrowed on her face then he grinned, shook his head.  “You’re getting ready to zone out on me again.”

“Sorry.”  She shrugged and lowered her feet back to the ground, looking off to the side so she didn’t keep looking back at him and either trying to picture him in front of a camera-or remembering him over her body, that beautiful face so close to hers, his dark eyes rapt on her face…

You’re obsessed, babe.  O.B.S.E.S.S.E.D.  You need to get away from him before this gets out of hand.

With that thought in mind, she glanced at the clock, she asked, “You think they’ll let me talk to Renee for a few minutes?”

He shrugged.  “Let you?  Probably not, but I can probably stall them for a few minutes, if she’s not asleep.  There aren’t any serious injuries, but she’d pretty banged up and they gave her some pain medicine a while ago.”  Shoving out of the seat, he offered her a hand.  “Come on.  We’ll go look.  If she’s awake, you can slip inside for a minute and I’ll fend off the nurses.”

She acted like she didn’t see it, rising and edging around him.

“I hadn’t realized you kept in touch with Renee.”

Sliding him a look from the corner of her eye, she shrugged.  “It wasn’t exactly a planned thing.   We both came home for Christmas later that year, ran into each other at the store.  Starting talking…”  Lacey sighed.  “Started talking and we couldn’t stop.  That night totally screwed with our heads.”

He was quiet, a frown on his face. They came to a halt in front of a curtained-off section and Seth peeked inside.  “She’s asleep,” he murmured, blocking her with his body.

Lacey moved past him to peek inside for herself.  Then she stopped in her tracks, her jaw dropping  in stunned surprise.

Damn.

Deacon and Renee.

She’d thought she glimpsed something between them earlier.  But it had been sheer chaos, cops, paramedics, all sorts of curious people emerging from their houses to gawk.  She hadn’t had that much time to really put two and two together.

It was as clear as day, though.  An unconscious smile curled her lips and she glanced at Seth before looking back at Renee.  The other woman was asleep all right.  And laying pressed up against her body was Deacon Cross.  Torso propped up, weight braced on one elbow, he stared down at Renee.  Lacey had a feeling he’d been doing just that, staring at Renee, for quite a while.

In her head, something clicked.  Lacey knew about the guy Renee had dated in college-knew about the kinky stuff Renee was experimenting with.  She’d worried about her friend for a while, just because everything Renee was getting into seemed so-not Renee.

Likewise, Lacey also knew about Deacon.  He’d always been big on being in charge when it came to sex when they’d started sleeping together, a little too confident for the typical teenaged boy.  His appetites had gotten darker.  Even though he had been able to make her feel so damned hot, he had ended up pushing her past a line she was comfortable with.  The more he needed, the less she could give.

During Christmas break her freshman year, they’d just decided to walk away.

Deacon and Renee.

She snickered.  “I should have seen this coming.”

Deacon glanced up at her from the bed.  A grin tugged at his lips and then it faded as he once more focused his attention on Renee.

Like she was the only thing in the world that existed-no.  Like she was his world.

How did that happen so fast?

Longing moved through her as she watched for another minute.  She wanted that.

Not Deacon-he had been the first guy she’d ever gotten serious over-hell, actually, he was the only guy she’d ever been serious over.  But she hadn’t loved him.

He might have loved her, probably had, but he hadn’t ever looked at her like that.  Never looked at her the way he looked at Renee like she was the center of his universe.

That was what she longed for.
