Dare Me

Okay, so I like a dare.  Not the stupid kind, like I dare you to lick a metal pole in the dead of winter or I dare you to jump off the garage.

More like the challenge kind of thing.

When my editor and I were talking about a Christmas story I was thinking of writing, I mentioned I’d had this idea for an elf.  She laughed.  An elf?  Yeah, I say, an elf.  There is no way an elf could be sexy.  You’d have to make me believe it.

And I did.  The result was Make Me Believe.  Oh, I love being challenged.

His Every Desire was the result of a personal challenge. A very hard book to write~the hero purposely goes after another man’s wife, a trophy wife that was abused and raped on a regular basis, yet still, she was married.  Adultery is a hot spot for me, yet this story lingered in my mind, and although it broke a huge rule in romance, and a huge personal rule for me, I had to write it.   Mainly because I wasn’t sure I could.

And then I had a couple of friends read an upcoming book from Berkley that I wrote.  One of the characters in it is an ass.  And I do mean an ass.  Completely.  Totally.  No way I’d ever write a book for him.  One of my advance readers said he needed a story.  The other one agreed with me and said he was most definitely an ass.

And then… what in the hell hit me this morning?

A frickin idea for the ass.

Sulk.  But that doesn’t mean I’m going to write it.
