I always wanted to write a book

A few weeks ago, I’d emailed Alison Kent about something biz related and when she replied, she also mentioned she wanted to add a few more authors to the sponsor list for the 70 Days challenge.  She asked me if I was interested.

Since I totally adore this challenge thing, I was thrilled.  If you’re a writer or either procrastinates (like me)  or somebody new to writing who just isn’t sure how to get started, this challenge might just be the thing for you.

So… now I guess I’m an official sponsor type person.  Maybe I should do an official sponsor-like inspirational post.  *G* I’m not the inspiring type, but I’ll give it a shot.

A message to all the new “sweat”ers out there.   🙂

You know… I always wanted to write a book…

Okay, so how many of you have said this?  Thought this?  I hear it at least five times at any giving signing I go to.  My usual response is, “Okay, so why don’t you?”

Most of them, it just seems they don’t know where to start.  Answer to that is… at the beginning.  😉

Make today your beginning.  Today starts the second round of 70 Days of Sweat writing challenge-it’s as good a time as any to get started.  Sure as hell beats never starting.

So you signed up?  Maybe it’s your first time and you’re doing it because you’ve always had an idea in the back of your mind and you might as well try writing it down?

Or…..maybe you are like me, the ultimate procrastinator, and you need the challenge as  a kick in the butt to get you going to get that book turned in-so you can start the next one.

Whatever reason you signed up for, you signed up to write a book.  It can be done.  If a slacker like me can meet the challenge, so can you.  Stop worrying about the plot, stop worrying that it might suck, stop worrying that you don’t know what you’re doing.

Ever writer who has ever published anything has worried the same things.   We all have doubts, we all get hung up on plots, and I imagine we’ve all thought that we were in over our heads at some point.

So start your book.  Now.  And finish it!  And then next time the topic of writing or reading comes up in a conversation, you won’t be one of the ones saying, You know… I always wanted to write a book.  Because you’ll have already done it.

Make sure you you visit the other sponsors for 70 Days of Sweat.
