So… how important are clothes to you in a book?

Me, I couldn’t care less, unless the clothing plays a really crucial part, and for me, crucial would be… “It’s prom day, and there’s a prom dress”  or “It’s a wedding day, and there’s a wedding dress.”  Every day ordinary clothes?  I couldn’t care less.

If it’s a first date type of scene, yes, I’ll probably make some mention of it, but I don’t tend to discuss clothes a lot in books and when I see a lot of references to clothing in books I’m reading? Well, unless it’s like the scene above, I’m likely to skim or just skip.
