Let's talk about… Quinn

Something I’m hearing a lot about lately.

Quinn.

As in… are we going to see him again

Wince.

I’m sorry.  Probably not.

There are a few reasons.

  1. Contractual reasons…last year, I signed w/Ballantine for romantic suspense.  I’m still writing for Berkley, but Berkley will be getting paranormal romances.  All romantic suspense will now go to Ballantine.  Since Quinn was kind of ‘born’ at Berkley, if I did write another book for him, it would really be best if it was a Berkley book and my contracts are going to prevent that.
  2. Quinn’s story is done.  Once I’ve got my characters settled and happy, they rarely show up in my head anymore.  That’s how I learn their stories…they show up in my head.  He’s not very likely to come knocking anymore.  He’s very much settled, very much happy.
  3. While it’s possible I could try to write a story for somebody where he’d show up as a secondary, even if #1 wasn’t an issue, there just weren’t any other characters in either of the books, BROKEN or FRAGILE, who were crying out to me for a story.  Doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen, but it just isn’t very likely.  I’ve been asked about one particular secondary, and while I’m not going to name names, those who have read the book probably know who she is, but she’s not somebody who is asking me for a story.

Sorry…I’m glad people seem to enjoyed his story so much, but it’s pretty much done.  I know a lot of people want to hear more from him, but’s not very likely to happen.  For a variety of reasons.  🙁
