The Writer Classification System

In my Sunday post, I talked about ABBs (authors behaving badly)  and Charlene Teglia made a comment

At any rate, it’s very easy to separate the workhorses from the divas. I can see the difference clearly and I’m sure readers can, too.

And that inspired today’s post.  The Writer Classification System

Diva- this is the author that loves to flounce around and show off, and if you EVER disagree with her on anything, then you just aren’t one of the cool kids.

Workhorse- self explanatory.  Work, work, work, until they drop and then start all over again.  My opinion would be that La Nora or Lynn Viehl (yes, my PBW slavish love again) are the workhorse personified.  I think there’s a class that the workhorse author aspires to, a lofty pedestal that they rightly deserve after busting tail.  Hmmmmm…. what to call them? Suggestions, anybody?

Wannabe (not the same as aspiring)- this author is the one that thinks publishing one book, anywhere, makes them an authority.  On everything.

Aspiring- the unpublished author that seeks workhorse status.

Troll- This is the writer, published or not, that has serious jealousy issues and consoles herself by going around to blogs or reviews and bashing other authors, usually those in the workhorse category.

Okay, have you got any?
