Yay! I have a book out today! After dealing with dog disasters and other assorted family things, I finally<\/em> have a few minutes to blog about it, too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you like seeing a good grovel from an alphahole who made the mistake of his life and hurt the only woman he’s ever loved? How about a strong heroine who isn’t so certain she can forgive said alphahole? How about meeting the heroine’s BFF…a deadly, dangerous, beautiful mermaid who totally kicks ass? In her world, the strong were broken young or they didn\u2019t survive. Eyes down, little wolf, <\/em>Zee\u2019s father would say.\u00a0You aren\u2019t strong enough yet.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zennia Day kept her eyes down and stayed quiet, knowing that one day, she\u2019d escape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When her chance comes, she finds herself on a road that takes her far from Massachusetts, all the way to North Carolina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has her eyes on the future\u2026until she meets Niko, a dominant Therian male and future Prime. When she looks at him, instead of a challenge for dominance, Zee sees a promise of forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And yet there was truth in the words she\u2019d spoken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They\u2019ll look at me, realize my\u2026 dilemma, and understand that you still won\u2019t touch me.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The thought of anybody looking down on her, of anybody pitying<\/em> her, sneering <\/em>at her, or laughing <\/em>at her, all of it made him want to tear things apart with his bare hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So caught up in a haze of anger, need and want, he didn\u2019t pay much attention to the creaking sound that was a door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But then there were footsteps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zee, <\/em>he thought, uncurling his hands from the bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lost look in her eyes right before she\u2019d turned away had gutted him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did she really think he didn\u2019t want her?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rising, he moved to the hall, her name already forming on his lips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sound of another door had him going predator-still.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The door to the outer hallway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was in the main area of the suite before she had it fully open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cZee\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She looked at him over her shoulder and he came up short, his brain short-circuiting as he took in the sight before him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She still wore the thin white button-down shirt she\u2019d had on earlier\u2014with no bra on. He could make out the darker circles of her nipples. Both his mouth and hands itched to touch, to taste. The shirt was tucked into a pair of skin-tight jeans, paired with sky-high red heels that matched the lipstick she\u2019d put on. Her eyes were made up to look all sexy and slumberous and her hair was in a messy topknot that left the delicate, elegant arch of her neck bare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sucking in a breath, he rasped, \u201cWhere are you going?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo the bar.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before she could slide from the room, he caught her arm. She weighed less than nothing to him and he had her against him, his back braced against the door before he even thought through his reaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf you want a drink, there\u2019s a fully-stocked bar here.\u201d He angled his chin in the direction of said service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not a drink I\u2019m after,\u201d she said bluntly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The possessive animal heart of him snarled in outrage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo,\u201d he said quietly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zee curled her lip. \u201cThat decision isn\u2019t yours to make. Please move.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He moved. Toward her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plunging his hands into her hair, he arched her head back and slammed his mouth down on hers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She sucked in a gasp, sealing them together more completely, their breaths becoming one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breaking the kiss, he painted a path down to her neck with his mouth and bit the arch where it flowed into her shoulder. \u201cWhat are you after, Zee?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She fisted her hands and rested them on his chest, her body trembling. \u201cWhat are you doing?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnswer the question.\u201d Tangling his fingers in her hair, he sent the remaining pins that had held the knot secured flying, then tugged her head back so he could look down into her flushed face. \u201cWhat were you planning to find down in the bar?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou already know the answer to that.\u201d Her lips were swollen but the lipstick must be quality stuff because it hadn\u2019t smeared at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An image of her on her knees in front of him, those red, red lips wrapped around his dick flashed through his mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Groaning, he banished the erotic torment of a fantasy, sliding his hand from her scalp to her neck. Her pulse beat against the delicate skin like a trapped bird.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou plan on finding some stranger to hook up with?\u201d he asked, and even though he had no right to her loyalty, some part of him was devastated. \u201cThat\u2019s really all you need? A quick, hard fuck?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ve learned to live without most of the things I once thought I needed<\/em>, Niko,\u201d she said. \u201cI get by on what\u2019s necessary to survive. And yes, a hard, fast fuck is all I\u2019m out for.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Somehow, despite everything, despite the guilt he carried, despite the anger he had for himself, she\u2019d just savaged him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He wanted to shake her, demand she stop this\u2014demand she look for more<\/em>. Other words burned in his throat and he feared if he let them loose, he\u2019d destroy any chance he might have at ever getting her to forgive him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Burying the hurt, the anger, the confusion, he pressed his mouth to her neck and bit her. Hauling her against him, he spun and pressed her to the door. Lips against her soft skin, he murmured, \u201cFine. If that\u2019s all you want, who am I to tell you no?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
