Okay, so you know what’s coming up?<\/p>\n

The Missing<\/strong> releases in mass market.<\/p>\n

Now it’s already out in trade, still available in a few places, although if you wait until it releases in paperback on 7\/6\/10, it would mean lots and lots to me.<\/p>\n

I’m going to be posting some excerpts between now and the end of the month. If you haven’t read it yet, maybe you’ll decide to check it out when the book hits the shelves in July.<\/p>\n

LOVE LOST<\/strong><\/p>\n

As a teenager, Taige Branch was able to do \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthings with her psychic gift that others \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcouldn\u2019t understand\u2014except for Cullen Morgan, \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe boy her stole her heart. \u201cCan\u2019t you look at me?\u201d<\/p>\n

She shot him a look over her shoulder and then focused her attention on the wall in front of her with an intensity that bordered on ridiculous. She heard him coming up behind her, and everything inside her went on red alert. Cullen sighed, and she felt the warm caress of his breath just before he reached up and cupped her shoulders, slowly turning her around. She wouldn\u2019t look at him.<\/p>\n

Instead, she focused on the faded white cotton that stretched over his chest.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt does matter,\u201d he said softly. \u201cDon\u2019t look at me and expect me to believe that you aren\u2019t still pissed off at me. You\u2019ve hardly looked at me. You won\u2019t speak to me unless you have to, and any time I come within three feet of you, you move away.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her voice was hoarse as she murmured, \u201cI\u2019m not pissed off at you, Cullen.\u201d Taking a deep breath, she steeled herself and looked up at his face. Damn\u2014that face. It had haunted her dreams ever since that gray November day, and she knew it would haunt her for the rest of her life. As she stared at him, Taige realized that she\u2019d been right. She had always suspected she\u2019d never get over Cullen, and she\u2019d been right. \u201cNever have been, really.\u201d<\/p>\n

His hand came up, and she braced herself, but whether she was trying to keep herself from pulling away or from leaning toward him, she didn\u2019t know. Gently, he traced his finger along the line of her mouth. \u201cYou really are amazing,\u201d he murmured.<\/p>\n

Her throat went tight. A bittersweet ache spread through her as she remembered a time when he had said that and held her in his arms and made love to her. Apparently, she wasn\u2019t amazing enough. If she was as special as he\u2019d always made her feel, he would have stayed with her . . . right? She would have been able to help his mom, and him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did it again,\u201d he said, his voice tense. He cupped her chin and forced her to look at him. \u201cWhat did I say this time?\u201d he asked, his voice hollow.<\/p>\n

Taige lied. \u201cNothing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThen why do you keep looking away from me?\u201d<\/p>\n

She glanced over his shoulder, through the glass wall that allowed them a full view of Jillian\u2019s bed. The curtain was still half-open, enough that Taige could see the girl sleeping. Damn. Too much to hope for that Jillian might have woken up. She touched her tongue to her lip and tried to find some answer that would satisfy him without making her look like the hopeless idiot she knew she must be.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s nothing you did or said,\u201d she finally told him. The little white lie wasn\u2019t going to kill her, right? \u201cThis is just really\u2014awkward.\u201d<\/p>\n

He brushed his thumb over her lips, and his gaze settled on her mouth. For a second, she thought he might kiss her. He didn\u2019t, though, and she couldn\u2019t decide if she was grateful or disappointed.<\/p>\n
