I’ve made a decent amount of casual friends since I got into this very bizarre business.<\/p>\n

I’ve made a\u00a0lot of\u00a0good friends.<\/p>\n

And I’ve made a\u00a0few very, very close friends.<\/p>\n

But only one or two, okay…3, that I could actually call my best friends.\u00a0 One of them is Lora Leigh<\/a>.\u00a0 I adore Lora.\u00a0 We’ve spent hours yakking on IM.\u00a0\u00a0She’s listened to me scream when I’m pissed, or cry when I’m\u00a0upset. She made sure I connected with a very important phone call when my email was bouncing and she was the first person I told after my husband\u00a0when I made that sale to New York. \u00a0<\/p>\n

We’ve brainedstormed, we’ve griped, we’ve laughed.\u00a0 She’s given me advice, which I ignored.\u00a0 (Hey, I ignore almost everybody) If had listened to her when she gave me mucho advice early on, I could have saved myself headaches.\u00a0 But hey, I never listen to anybody.\u00a0 ;o)\u00a0 But I still have to give her credit for trying, repeatedly, to talk some sense into me.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The cool thing about a really good friend is that you can be both jealous and happy at the same time and that friend will totally understand and not run around behind your back and call you a bitch because you’ve got a case of envy going on.<\/p>\n

I’m suffering that myself right now, envious of Lora yet so damn happy and proud of her at the same time.<\/p>\n

Lora’s recent release, Hidden Agendas, came out on the New York Times Bestseller list.<\/a>\u00a0 At #25 for paperbacks.<\/p>\n

That is fricking amazing and I’m so happy for her (even though I really wish I could see my name up there too).\u00a0 Shadoe, you busted your butt for this and you deserve it.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
