Time for the Thursday Thirteen!<\/a><\/p>\n

For the non-romance reader\/writer, RT is the yearly Romantic Times Convention….you can read about it here.<\/a><\/p>\n

  1. It’s expensive.<\/li>\n
  2. It’s in Houston TX.\u00a0 Nothing against Texas, and I definitely want to go there, but that’s a pretty long car trip.\u00a0 If I went, I’d have to fly.\u00a0 See Reason 3 why this is a problem.<\/li>\n
  3. It’s in Houston TX.\u00a0 Again, nothing against Texas, but that’s too far away for a day or two trip and I don’t go away for more than a day or two without taking the family with me.\u00a0I’d miss them too much.\u00a0 But flying all of us to Texas?\u00a0 Expensive!<\/li>\n
  4. RT involves lots of parties, lots of panels, lots of late nights.\u00a0 Basically it sounds to me like party central.\u00a0 I’m too antisocial for parties.\u00a0 Much less weeklong parties.<\/li>\n
  5. If I was rushing around getting ready for RT, that would have been one more thing on my mind when I was trying to get Through the Veil <\/em>finished.\u00a0 That’s the last thing I need.<\/li>\n
  6. I’m doing the Lori Foster <\/a>get together in June and Lora Leigh’s <\/a>RAW in September.\u00a0 That’s enough writing functions for me.<\/li>\n
  7. Hotel beds are bad on the back.\u00a0 If it’s going to tear my back up, I want it to be over something more fun than sleeping on a hotel bed.<\/li>\n
  8. Hotel food.\u00a0 See above.\u00a0 Insert stomach for back.<\/li>\n
  9. Too tired.\u00a0 Way too tired.\u00a0 Being mommy, wife and writer is exhausting enough without something like RT.<\/li>\n
  10. Now I don’t have to spend a fortune on costumes and promo stuff.<\/li>\n
  11. I have an agent and\u00a0several editors.<\/li>\n
  12. I think in theory the workshops could be interesting, I rarely listen to advice so no reason to pay for it to go to workshops, right?<\/li>\n
  13. And last but not least….I could either choose between going to RT….<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
