<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/erintheinnocent.blogspot.com\/\">Erin<\/a> is raising money for breast cancern and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.karenknowsbest.blogspot.com\/\">Karen<\/a> is looking for input from black authors regarding the publishing industry.<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\"><font size=\"4\" face=\"Bookman Old Style\"><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">Friday, I finished <em>One Night With You.\u00a0 <\/em>It&#8217;s a novella and will be coming out from <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ellorascave.com\">EC<\/a>, although I&#8217;m not sure when.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a contemp~friends to lovers sort of thing, although the H&amp;H alway had the hots for each other.\u00a0 But for some reason, they never told the other.\u00a0 (Although, if they had, there wouldn\u2019t have been a story for me to tell.) <\/span><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\"><font size=\"4\" face=\"Bookman Old Style\"><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\"><em>Short excerpt<\/em>\u00a0<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\"><font size=\"4\" face=\"Bookman Old Style\"><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">How could a simple look make her feel like that?<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\"><font size=\"4\" face=\"Bookman Old Style\"><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">Shifting around in the chair, Bo hoped he couldn\u2019t tell how nervous she was.\u00a0 False hope\u2013Logan always seemed to know how she felt.\u00a0 He always had.\u00a0 But she could always pretend, right?\u00a0 Pretend that she felt totally comfortable in the dark quiet Lexington restaurant, with its flickering candlelight and soft music.\u00a0 Pretend that she didn\u2019t feel self-conscious in the red silk that draped over her body.\u00a0 Pretend that she knew how to handle the looks he kept giving her.<\/span><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\"><font size=\"4\" face=\"Bookman Old Style\"><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">If she faked it long enough, maybe she could actually convince herself it was all true.\u00a0 That she knew how to wear silk and sip wine and smile a sexy little smile at the gorgeous man staring at her.\u00a0 <\/span><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\"><font size=\"4\" face=\"Bookman Old Style\"><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">But she didn\u2019t think it was going to happen.<\/span><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Bo was more comfortable wearing jeans and a tank top while she worked a photo shoot.\u00a0 She\u2019d rather the silk be on some bone-skinny model she saw through her camera lens instead of on her. She rather be riding through rain and snow on her dad\u2019s ranch and taking pictures of a newborn foal\u2013even helping to deliver it.\u00a0 She\u2019d take the blood and gore and afterbirth, or dealing demanding models and demanding agents.\u00a0\u00a0 She\u2019d take those experiences any day of the week over this one.<\/span><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0At least she knew how to handle those.<\/span><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\"><font size=\"4\" face=\"Bookman Old Style\"><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">\u201cYou don\u2019t have to look so nervous.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\"><font size=\"4\" face=\"Bookman Old Style\"><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">Bo didn\u2019t see the point in lying.\u00a0 She looked at Logan and smiled a little.\u00a0 \u201cI\u2019m not used to this kind of place, that\u2019s all.\u201d\u00a0 Okay, so maybe that wasn\u2019t the complete truth, but that wasn\u2019t exactly lying, was it?\u00a0 Because there was no way she was going to tell Logan that he was the real reason she was so nervous.<\/span><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\"><font size=\"4\" face=\"Bookman Old Style\"><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">Logan glanced around and smiled a little.\u00a0 \u201cI thought about going to the Roadhouse but they don\u2019t have cr\u00e8me brulee.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Even though her belly was pleasantly full from dinner, the thought of cr\u00e8me brulee had her mouth watering.\u00a0 \u201cYou got me,\u201d Bo said with a grin.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\"><font size=\"4\" face=\"Bookman Old Style\"><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">\u201cYou and your sweet tooth.\u201d\u00a0 The waiter showed up and Bo sipped at her wine in silence while he ordered.\u00a0 Just one dessert.\u00a0 As the waiter walked away, she looked at him with a brow lifted.\u00a0 \u201cI hope you don\u2019t think I\u2019m sharing.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\"><font size=\"4\" face=\"Bookman Old Style\"><span style=\"font-size:13pt;line-height:150%;font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\">His pale brown eyes dropped to her mouth and that nervousness returned.\u00a0 \u201cI\u2019m not hungry for dessert.\u201d\u00a0 The look on his face seemed to say the opposite, Bo thought.\u00a0 He looked like he was starving, but she had a weird feeling he wasn\u2019t interested in food.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:'Bookman Old Style';\"><font size=\"4\" face=\"Bookman Old Style\">**BTW if the font or the format on this looks wonky, somebody please tell me.\u00a0 A reader emailed me that she couldn&#8217;t read the font, so I&#8217;m trying to make it easier to read.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 This is how to get your kids hooked on reading&#8230;.\u00a0 ;o)\u00a0\u00a0 Okay, okay, so she&#8217;s trying to eat the paper and play with it<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shilohwalker.com\/website\/2007\/02\/starting-them-young-finishing-books-and-other-stuff\/\" class=\"more-link\"><span class=\"screen-reader-text\"> &#8220;Starting them YOUNG&#8230;
