She went through the \u201cchange\u201d but it certainly didn\u2019t change her all that much.<\/p>\n<p>Still shy, quiet and a wallflower, she doesn\u2019t fit in with the rest of the vampires or other paranormal creatures at Excelsior, the school that trains the elite Hunters. She was never really liked sex, always thought she might be frigid, but now she needs it. A lot. Then that night\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He paused and took a deep breath. She still wasn\u2019t looking at him. His heart clenched painfully and he turned away. \u201cThat night, I didn\u2019t want to let you leave. I wanted <em>you<\/em>. But it didn\u2019t feel right. I spent the past four years of my life hating myself over that. If I\u2019d done what I wanted, maybe none of this would have happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLevi\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He shook his head. \u201cI didn\u2019t recognize you either, at least not all the way. But something inside me knew. You were the first person, in four damn years, to make me feel much of anything besides grief and guilt.\u201d He snorted. \u201cBut all you needed was a dick. She had her back pressed to the door and when he tried to tug it open, she leaned back harder. Levi narrowed his eyes. \u201cI\u2019m done here, Cori.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not.\u201d She gazed at him, something he couldn\u2019t quite define shining in her eyes. She caught her lower lip between her teeth, a familiar nervous gesture, one he\u2019d seen a hundred times before. \u201cDo you remember that day at the river, when you asked, why then?
