\n\u201cI came here to talk to you.\u201d Marin slid off the counter, one hand going to smooth her skirt down, while the other absently went up to smooth her hair.
\nThat was a Hollywood queen for you, he thought. She always knew how to look her best, without even trying. \u201cYeah, because we\u2019ve done so much talking\u2014you coming into my bedroom while I was taking a shower.\u201d
\nShe went red. \u201cYou didn\u2019t close the door, you overgrown moron. I was talking to her when I came in and I didn\u2019t realize until\u2026\u201d
\n\u201cUntil what?\u201d He came closer and lowered his face until he could breathe her in once more. \u201cUntil you saw me there, jacking off while I had the scent of you in my head and the thought of how you might taste burning a hole in me?\u201d
\nMarin\u2019s eyes went opaque and it took everything he had not to reach for her and finish what they\u2019d started.
\n\u201cYou,\u201d she said, voice shaking. \u201cAre a jackass. It was an accident.\u201d
\n\u201cYeah? How long did you stand there?\u201d
\nShe opened her mouth, then closed it. While she stood gaping there, Sebastien struggled with the hunger inside him and wondered how he\u2019d ever manage to be around her again without it destroying them both. Finally, she sputtered out, \u201cIt was hardly more than a few seconds. For goodness sake, Sebastien. You act like we\u2019ve never seen each other naked. It\u2019s not like I don\u2019t know you have a dick.\u201d
\nHearing those words on her lips exploded something inside his head and he almost reached for her\u2014again.
\nBut he backed away instead.
\n\u201cYou need to go,\u201d he said carefully. \u201cBecause if you don\u2019t, I\u2019m going to put my hands on you again and I won\u2019t stop until you\u2019re under me and moaning my name. By the time I\u2019m done, you won\u2019t even remember anybody else\u2019s.\u201d
\nChin lifted mutinously, Marin glared at him. \u201cNice to know you\u2019re still stuck in that teenage hormone rush, Sebastien. If you ever grow out of it, you\u2019ll make some woman very happy one day.\u201d
\nHe growled and took a step forward.
\nMarin ignored him as she cut around the island and reached into the purse she\u2019d left there earlier.
\n\u201cI wanted to bring this out to you\u2014okay, no, I didn\u2019t. JD wanted me to bring it. I told him it was a waste of time and that you\u2019d given up.\u201d She dumped something on the island and it didn\u2019t take more than a second for him to recognize a script.
\n\u201cTake it back,\u201d he said sourly. \u201cI\u2019m done.\u201d
\nMarin smiled at him sweetly. \u201cThat\u2019s what I told him. You never see anything through when it gets too hard.\u201d
\n\u201cMarin\u2026\u201d
\n\u201cIt\u2019s okay, honey. As you get older\u2014\u201d
\nHe lunged after her and she backed away, eyes widening slightly.
\nFinally, she was getting it.
\nHe snatched up the manuscript as she turned and walked away. \u201cYou forgot something.\u201d
\nShe flipped him off over her shoulder.
\n\u201cI\u2019d rather fuck you,\u201d he shouted at her back.
\nHe waited for a response, but apparently she was done with his temper.
\nHe looked down at the script and in a fit of temper\u2014mostly self-directed\u2014he hurled it across the room. His home was done in an open air design and nothing separated the kitchen from the eating area or the living room. The heavy, bound stack of pages ended up by the aquarium and he continued to glare at it for untold minutes.
\nIt wasn\u2019t until the alarm chimed, letting him know somebody had left the premises that he managed to snap himself out of it.
\nSwearing, he dragged his hands down his face and then he made himself go over and pick up the script.
\nWhen he saw the title, he almost dropped it.<\/p>\n

T O R N<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t drop the script though. He\u2019d throw it away. Maybe burn it in his fire pit.
\nHe might have been able to do it, too.
\nBut he saw the handwritten note next the title of script, typed in out such stark font. By contrast, Marin\u2019s handwriting stood out even more. He knew her writing as well as his own and he knew for a fact she\u2019d written this note well before their little\u2026okay, big argument.<\/p>\n

Sebastien<\/em>
\nRead the script. I know you wanted the part before, but it wasn\u2019t right for you. Maybe you don\u2019t want it now, but I can tell, this part needs you and I think you need it. This is your life and it\u2019s time you come back to it. You\u2019re missed, Seb. By a lot of us and I\u2019m not talking your fans. We all miss you. Your friends miss you. Your family misses you. I miss you.<\/em><\/p>\n

I\u2019m playing Marlena and I can\u2019t think of anybody I\u2019d rather have acting as the male lead other than you.<\/em><\/p>\n

You\u2019re ready for this, Seb.<\/em><\/p>\n

He gripped the script tighter, absently smoothing down pages he\u2019d crumpled with his carelessness.
\nHe\u2019d just mail it back to JD. Marin wouldn\u2019t be back out here any time soon\u2014if ever.<\/p>\n
