Now I have to go look up the song&#8230;I haven&#8217;t listened to the Bangles in years.<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday was my 18th wedding anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>The guy bought me this&#8230; he picked it up at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/giftsinnboonsboro.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Gifts Inn Boonsboro<\/em><\/a> while we were in town for the signing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/giftsinnboonsboro.com\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-33675\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.shilohwalker.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/1406568355278-219x300.jpg?resize=219%2C300\" alt=\"Necklace\" width=\"219\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.shilohwalker.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/1406568355278.jpg?resize=219%2C300&amp;ssl=1 219w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.shilohwalker.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/1406568355278.jpg?w=698&amp;ssl=1 698w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 219px) 100vw, 219px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I saw it and was like\u00a0<em>WANT WANT WANT<\/em>&#8230;of course, he wouldn&#8217;t just buy it then, even thought I told him I knew he was looking for an anniversary gift for me.<\/p>\n<p>He went and got it when I was otherwise engaged.<\/p>\n<p>I did get it yesterday, though, on our anniversary, along with roses. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>We went to church and I spent about half the morning dealing with an asthma attack-I think somebody had on some sort of weird perfume. \u00a0It wasn&#8217;t strong, per se, but something about it seemed to set me off and I don&#8217;t even know what. \u00a0FYI, asthma suck-eth muchly. \u00a0We took the kids out to lunch then spent half the day grocery &amp; school supply shopping. \u00a0Awesome celebration, right? Although the trip to Boonsboro, driving through the mountains was really our anniversary type of thing.<\/p>\n<p>We did go out for a movie..saw Hercules which I have to admit, I liked a lot. \u00a0It had a different twist to it, but I still liked.<\/p>\n<p>We had more than a few people say something like&#8230;<em>eighteen years&#8230;wow, that&#8217;s a record anymore<\/em>, which makes me sad. \u00a0I know people who&#8217;ve been together 40+ years and I want to be looking at my guy on our 40th. \u00a0 I posted on my FB page that one of the best decisions I ever made was when I said\u00a0<em>I do<\/em> eighteen years ago and I completely mean that.<\/p>\n<p>Today starts the crazy for getting ready for back to school. \u00a0Open house, haircuts, blah blah blah. \u00a0It&#8217;s been a short summer, but I&#8217;m kinda ready for them to get back to school. \u00a0I need my routine back.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~*~<\/p>\n<p>Louisville folks&#8230; I&#8217;m talking books and publishing and suspense and what-not at the Hurstbourne Lane Barnes &amp; Noble on August 9th. She didn\u2019t think she\u2019d ever seen him vulnerable. Reluctant, nervous, scared, determined, arrogant, angry\u2026and now, hot, hungry and ferocious.<\/p>\n<p>But had she ever glimpsed that vulnerability in his eyes.<\/p>\n<p>She didn\u2019t think she had.<\/p>\n<p>Hesitantly, she reached up and rested a hand on his chest. \u201cWell, my brain is still spinning over\u2026this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He cocked a brow at her lame explanation. Then he closed his fingers around her wrist. \u201cIt\u2019s okay, sugar,\u201d he murmured. He pressed a kiss to her palm and then backed away. \u201cIf you want to forget you let me fuck you on that desk, you go ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He turned away.<\/p>\n<p>She leaped off and caught his arm as he went to fasten his belt.<\/p>\n<p>He tensed, but didn\u2019t turn.<\/p>\n<p>So she went around him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI said my brain was spinning,\u201d she said. She wished, and not for the first time, she had his confidence. His strength. Even a tenth of it. But she didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>But she had to find the guts to say this.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it is.\u201d Instead of looking up into his eyes, she focused on his hands. The tail of the Chinese dragon curled up around his right wrist before ending over the back of his hand and she reached out, trailing the tips of her fingers over the scales, almost delicately done. \u201cBut I can tell you, I\u2019m not ever going to look at my desk without thinking about\u2026this. I can\u2019t believe we did that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She covered his other hand with hers and tugged his hands from his belt buckle, moving in closer. She pressed a kiss to his chest, to the flicking tail of the tiger, along the lean, powerful body there. \u201cAnd yeah\u2026I\u2019m kinda embarrassed thinking that somebody out there heard.
