First… Coastal Magic rocked.<\/p>\n

If you can get to Florida to attend this next year, I recommend. The panels are fun, readers, as always, are amazing, it’s really affordable and I met some awesome authors.<\/p>\n

I finally got to meet Molly Harper, Ashlyn Chase, Jess Haines, Carrie Ann Ryan and James Tuck (and I know there were others, but I’m a ditz and THE THING THAT HAPPENED has killed my brain). I’ve known these authors a while, but never got to meet them.<\/p>\n

Also got to talk with Kristen Painter and Angie Fox again. I’ve had one of Kristen’s books forever and I must read it. Also, I have to figure out how to see these biker guys that Angie knows.<\/p>\n

And I have some new authors I’ll be checking out… Selena Blake, I’m sorry I scarred your brain, but hey, it was fun, right? \ud83d\ude09 I’m checking out Amber Belldene’s books because she was way, way cool to listen to.<\/p>\n

Now.<\/p>\n

I have to tell you this story. It started with this.<\/p>\n

This was on the display table … Aunt Matilda’s Jewelry Box… the vendor was selling jewelry at Coastal Magic. \u00a0This book. \u00a0That book? \u00a0It has Kit’s necklace. \u00a0My brain went into meltdown. \u00a0Why? \u00a0Because not that long ago? \u00a0Lynn was at a steampunk show<\/a>, handing out books. \u00a0My brain imploded. \u00a0This woman had met Lynn Viehl. \u00a0I just\u00a0knew<\/em> it. \u00a0I looked at her…\u00a0“You met her, didn’t you<\/i>?”<\/p>\n

She smiles at me. \u00a0“Yes, I did.”<\/p>\n

“I hate you.” \u00a0I couldn’t help it. \u00a0It popped out of my mouth. \u00a0I looked at the book. \u00a0At her. \u00a0Then I said it again. \u00a0“She’s one of my two favorite authors. \u00a0And I’ll never get to meet her. \u00a0I hate you.”<\/p>\n

She kinda laughed. \u00a0“It’s a book convention. Who knows, she could show up.”<\/p>\n

I snorted. \u00a0Then I took a picture of the book, fully intending to email it to Lynn and tell her, “I hate you.”<\/p>\n

This is clearly my theme.<\/p>\n

Fast forward it to the booksigning. \u00a0I’m wandering around, killing time, not setting up my table, because I’m lazy and spastic and if I sit, I’ll spazz more. \u00a0But it’s almost time so I go to my table and Jenn, our lovely convention lady, is there.<\/p>\n

So is somebody else. \u00a0I figured it was a reader, although readers weren’t in yet.<\/p>\n

I go behind the table and the woman plunks down a bag. \u00a0“Here’s your damn bag.”<\/p>\n

I blinked. Then I looked at the bag. \u00a0“You made this?” \u00a0It was a gorgeous bag. (FYI, I’m not ready yet. My table is a mess, I’m not ON yet…but here’s a lady with a bag).<\/p>\n

She’s looking at me. \u00a0Jenn is looking at me. \u00a0Then she looks at Jenn. \u00a0“Let’s see if she figures out who I am.”<\/p>\n

I look back at her. \u00a0She looks familiar.<\/p>\n

“Do you know who I am?” she asked me and she seems to think I should know.<\/p>\n

Again, yes, she looks\u00a0familiar…sorta. \u00a0But I’m a ditz. And they keep staring at me. \u00a0And my belly is kinda twitching. \u00a0Because they are staring at me. \u00a0And she\u00a0does<\/em> look familiar.<\/p>\n

That’s when it started to hit.<\/p>\n

“Oh, no.”<\/p>\n

She starts to grin.<\/p>\n

“No way.”<\/p>\n

That grin got\u00a0wider<\/em>.<\/p>\n

“No. No. NO WAY.”<\/p>\n

She started to laugh.<\/p>\n

“You can’t be.”<\/p>\n

She was laughing and then asked if I wanted to see her driver’s license.<\/p>\n

She\u00a0showed<\/em> me her driver’s license, because I didn’t\u00a0believe<\/em> her.<\/p>\n

Lynn fricking Viehl showed up at Coastal Magic.<\/p>\n

I grabbed her and I hugged her and I screamed and I am unashamed.<\/p>\n

She brought me my damn bag (I emailed her a while back and told her\u00a0I’m never gonna win a damn bag from you<\/em>).<\/p>\n

She sat with me the whole signing and we went out to dinner.<\/p>\n

Guys. \u00a0I met Lynn Viehl<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Year. Made.<\/p>\n
