He took longer than fifteen minutes.<\/p>\n

It took that long just to get his head on straight.<\/p>\n

Of course, when he walked into his room and saw her standing at the floor to ceiling windows, staring out over the lake, wearing one of his shirts, he had to stop and catch his breath.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is about a woman wearing a guy\u2019s shirt?\u201d<\/p>\n

She startled and turned around, stared at him. She looked puzzled and then glanced down, stared at the black dress shirt, shrugged. \u201cSorry. I wasn\u2019t exactly planning on spending the night and I figured you didn\u2019t keep pajamas on hand for guests.\u201d She bit her lip, tugging at the collar. \u201cI can use a T-shirt or something.\u201d<\/p>\n

He shook his head, staring at her. \u201cI think I might have the shirt bronzed or something. I\u2019ll never be able to wear it without thinking about you looked in it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhatever,\u201d she snorted, rolling her eyes before turning back to stare out over the lake. \u201cYou must like the water. I never realized you were that into the lake.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not.\u201d He came up behind her, stroked a hand down her spine, watched as she shivered. So fucking responsive\u2026it was almost painfully erotic, just to watch how she reacted when he touched her. \u201cI just like the privacy. I told the realtor to find me a quiet place, someplace well outside the city and this was one she showed me. When I saw the house\u2026well, it was just mine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHmmm.\u201d<\/p>\n

Resting one hand on the base of her spine, he stroked, easing the shirt up. In the glass, he could see just the faintest outline of her face, watched as her lashes dipped. Mine\u2026<\/em>he thought. It was a rather dizzying surprise to look at her and realize he felt a strong, stunning possessiveness.<\/p>\n

This was weird. Deeper than anything he\u2019d felt. Different. He wanted to spend a hell of lot more time with Chaili than just one night.<\/p>\n

Something he\u2019d think about in the morning.<\/p>\n

One of many things he needed to process.<\/p>\n

Something he\u2019d have to take his time on and think through, because Marc was damn good at screwing things up when he didn\u2019t think them through.<\/p>\n

\u201cCome to bed,\u201d he whispered against her ear.<\/p>\n

\u201cAren\u2019t you going to shower?\u201d<\/p>\n

Groaning, he dropped his head against her shoulder. \u201cDamn. I knew I was forgetting something.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chaili chuckled, turning around and pressing her lips to his neck. \u201cWell, the shower was your idea. I\u2019m just fine with going to bed now.\u201d She paused and then took a deep breath. \u201cMarc\u2026you smell like me. I kind of like it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He wrapped his arm around her, hauling her against him. \u201cYou\u2019ve got my shirt on\u2026\u201d He buried his face against her neck and breathed in the faint scent of his own soap on her skin. \u201cAnd I can smell my soap on you. It\u2019s never been that fucking sexy on me. I swear, I could eat you alive.\u201d<\/p>\n
