{"id":29757,"date":"2012-05-17T08:00:29","date_gmt":"2012-05-17T12:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shilohwalker.com\/website\/?p=29757"},"modified":"2012-05-15T14:04:32","modified_gmt":"2012-05-15T18:04:32","slug":"wreck-this-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.shilohwalker.com\/website\/2012\/05\/wreck-this-life\/","title":{"rendered":"Wreck This Life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So my first full length contemporary romance is done, and mailed off to my editor. \u00a0This was just contracted and the release date, blurb, etc&#8230; <em>all<\/em>\u00a0of that is still a ways off, but here&#8217;s an excerpt.<\/p>\n<p>The breath caught in her lungs as their gazes locked.<\/p>\n<p>Things that she wanted that she couldn\u2019t see\u2026Shit.\u00a0 Right now the problem was that she knew exactly <em>what<\/em>\u2026no\u2026she knew <em>who<\/em> she wanted.\u00a0 But it wasn\u2019t a good idea\u2026<\/p>\n<p>He reached up and tugged on her hair.\u00a0 \u201cSo what\u2019s the other thing you planned on doing, Abby?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>You<\/em>\u2014<\/p>\n<p>The word almost jumped out of her.\u00a0 She had to fight to keep it locked inside and not just because it sounded trashier than hell.\u00a0 She wasn\u2019t exactly planning on <em>doing<\/em> a man.\u00a0 She\u2019d planned an affair.\u00a0 A torrid affair. With a hot guy.<\/p>\n<p>Yet the only guy she could even imagine this with right now was Zach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAh\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That familiar smile of his, a little devious, a little wicked, curled his lips as he twined one of her curls around his finger.\u00a0 \u201cWhat is it, Abby?\u00a0 You weren\u2019t planning something really bad, were you?\u00a0 Going to rob a bank?\u00a0 Get a part-time job as a stripper?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She snorted and eased back away from him, reminding herself that she needed to breathe.\u00a0 She needed to think.\u00a0 That was what she needed to do.\u00a0 \u201cSure, Zach.\u00a0 I\u2019m going to become the Stripper Bank Robber.\u00a0 I\u2019ll wear a mask and a G-string and pasties.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan I be your get-away driver?\u00a0 I\u2019d love to see this,\u201d he teased, his voice husky.<\/p>\n<p>And the look in his eyes was\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Whoa.\u00a0 Her mouth went dry and again, her skin felt all hot and tight.\u00a0 She couldn\u2019t seem to suck in enough oxygen.\u00a0 \u201cWell, you\u2019ll just have to picture it your dreams.\u00a0 Stripping and bank-robbing weren\u2019t on the list.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI dunno\u2026\u201d\u00a0 A wicked light glinted in his eyes and he leaned in closer.\u00a0 \u201cYou look awful guilty, sugar.\u00a0 Just what else is on the list?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Get up.\u00a0 Walk away.
