{"id":16042,"date":"2011-01-03T08:00:03","date_gmt":"2011-01-03T13:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shilohwalker.com\/website\/?p=16042"},"modified":"2010-12-28T00:58:01","modified_gmt":"2010-12-28T05:58:01","slug":"about-romantic-times-in-2011la","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.shilohwalker.com\/website\/2011\/01\/about-romantic-times-in-2011la\/","title":{"rendered":"About Romantic Times in 2011\/LA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I keep getting asked if I&#8217;m going to RT in LA&#8230;and then I keep getting told I&#8217;m on a list.<\/p>\n<p>Um&#8230; I&#8217;m not going.\u00a0 Never signed up.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t go.\u00a0 Not unless I hit some publishing lotto (or the powerball LOL).\u00a0 LA is outside my personal traveling range-I only go places now that I can get to &amp; from within a day&#8217;s drive (The drive thing is because I want\/need to be close to my family.) \u00a0 If I can&#8217;t make to wherever within a day&#8217;s drive, then the family comes with me and they go do fun stuff while I work.\u00a0 Since LA is rather far from the Louisville KY area, that means&#8230;well.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t go.\u00a0 If <em>I<\/em> go, I&#8217;d be taking my family.\u00a0 Which is one heck of a pricey trip.\u00a0 One I can&#8217;t afford right now.<\/p>\n<p>About traveling &amp; booksignings and places beyond in general&#8230;(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.shilohwalker.com\/website\/?p=4551\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>There&#8217;s a more in-depth post here, BTW<\/strong><\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Once my kids are older, I <em>will<\/em> do a bit more traveling.\u00a0 I already do travel a little more than I used to.\u00a0 Once they are out of the house?\u00a0 Not a problem.\u00a0 But while they are with me, I&#8217;m going to enjoy them.\u00a0 Hopefully, the writing will always be there, but I know for a fact, my kids aren&#8217;t always going to right <em>here<\/em>.\u00a0 Bratlet is already in middle school.\u00a0 Monster isn&#8217;t far behind.\u00a0 Baby bratlet starts school next year.\u00a0 Time is flying quicker than I can keep up and while they are still young enough to enjoy having me around, I&#8217;m going to be-and once they <em>aren&#8217;t<\/em> young enough&#8230;well, that&#8217;s a pretty crucial time for me to be around.\u00a0 They are my priority.<\/p>\n<p>As much as I enjoy getting out and meeting readers and stuff, you all don&#8217;t need me.\u00a0 My kids, however, do.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve only got them for a finite period of time and once that&#8217;s gone&#8230;it&#8217;s gone and I can&#8217;t get it back.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not going to be one of the parents who look back and wish I&#8217;d spent more time <em>as<\/em> a parent.\u00a0 Hopefully people can understand that. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>And I know most of you already do&#8230;thank you.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.shilohwalker.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/cooltext482820484.png\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-14590\" style=\"border: 0pt none;\" title=\"cooltext482820484\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.shilohwalker.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/cooltext482820484.png?resize=234%2C165\" alt=\"\" width=\"234\" height=\"165\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I keep getting asked if I&#8217;m going to RT in LA&#8230;and then I keep getting told I&#8217;m on a list.
