For as long as he could remember, he\u2019d dreamt of killing monsters. Demons.<\/p>\n

And he\u2019d known the different sort of demons too. He could recall them from vivid, vivid dreams. But the dreams never terrified him.<\/p>\n

To Jack, it seemed normal to dream of battling demons. So many demons.<\/p>\n

The time had come when he didn\u2019t just battle them in his dreams, but in reality. He\u2019d killed the first one when he was fifteen, and it had felt so easy\u2026so natural\u2026like a habit. It hadn\u2019t felt like the first time. It wasn\u2019t exactly something he\u2019d planned on, but it was what he was meant to do\u2014what he was built for. What he was destined for.<\/p>\n
