Her boyfriend Brogan is all about control and she\u2019s all about breaking through his barriers. Except she can\u2019t seem to do it. Unwilling to settle for only part of him, she takes off, figuring it\u2019s better that way. After all, half of a relationship is worse than none. She settles in with her best friend, hot and sexy photographer Lou, figuring she\u2019ll lick her wounds and give her heart time to heal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finding Lacey gone is a punch to the gut. Finding her with another guy is even worse. She isn\u2019t interested in listening to what he has to say, though. Not unless he\u2019s willing to strip himself bare and give up pieces of himself that died long ago.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brogan can\u2019t do that. Or so he thinks. Lacey and Lou have other plans, a hot, torrid night, some hot, sexy pictures\u2026 Lacey is determined to show Brogan a new way of seeing things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Excerpt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Lacey came out the shower, the house was too\nquiet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her stomach dropped and she thought for a minute\nthat Brogan had just left her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But if he had, Lou would have been there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As she paced the house, wondering at the silence,\nshe passed by the window to the heavily landscaped, gardened backyards and she\nsaw him, head bowed, standing there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Without bothering to pull on anything but the\nterrycloth robe Lou kept on hand for the models who used the bathroom, she\nheaded outside, her heart heavy in her chest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And the weight only got worse when he turned and\nlooked at her. His face was haggard and his eyes were dull, almost lifeless. As\nshe moved to join him, he looked back out over the yard without saying a word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Long, tense moments passed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When he spoke, he said the last thing she would\nhave expected to hear him say. \u201cIf I could give you anything at all, what would\nyou want?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lacey closed her eyes. \u201cI don\u2019t want&nbsp;<em>things<\/em>&nbsp;from\nyou, Brogan.\u201d&nbsp;<em>I want you to want me. To need me.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m not talking about stuff, Lacey. I\u2019m talking\nabout\u2026anything.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She frowned and then looked over at him. The flutter in her chest might be hope. But it had been a long time since she\u2019d felt hope. She didn\u2019t want to believe in it. \u201cI only ever wanted you. I want you to give me yourself, to share yourself, baby.
