KindleSince I finished up Chains a little earlier than I’d expected, I spent the rest of Tuesday reading.
KindleIn a week, I’ll be getting ready to leave for Alaska.
Excited? Yep. Ready? Not even close.
I’m mostly packed-naturally, I got all the books on hand I wanna take, many of them on my Sony. I’m also taking things like bookmarks since I plan on hitting some bookstores. I got my camera, cuz I’m taking a lot of pictures.
Clothes…check.
Tickets…e-tickets, gotta love them.
Camcorder…check.
Hiking boots…check.
Kids…check.
Now, the one thing I haven’t figured out? My husband and I will celebrate our 12th anniversary while we’re gone. And the kids will be with us. Trying to figure out the logistics of a nice, romantic evening…his mom will be there for a short while, so hopefully we can swing something. Hmmmm…wonder if I can find a B&B close by…
KindleAnybody else interested in guest blogging? I’m going to be gone for two weeks starting next week and while I do have a few things lined up, not enough to cover the whole two weeks.
Authors/readers both are welcome. Only thing I ask is that authors not do blatantly promo-geared posts, like GO BUY MY BOOK! Talking about the book’s inspiration, that sort of thing is fine, but not blatant promo…sorry, it’s kinda boring just reading blatant promo sooooooo….not doing it.
If you’re interested, email me @ shilohwalker(at)gmail.com.
Thank you!
KindleThere are a lot perks that come with writing for a living. I could work in my jammies if I wanted (rarely do, because I still gotta run kidlets to sitters, etc) but I can work in very casual clothes. I can set my own hours (although that leaves way too much time to play). Most of all, I get to do what I love, and something I’ve got a talent for.
But there was an unexpected perk to this biz I hadn’t expected. ARCS. Not mine. But from friends.
One of the most recent perks I enjoyed was Red by Jordan Summers. It was very, very, very good.
The blurb…
War is brewing in a near-future world where murder is all but unheard of and the existence of creatures known as the Others has yet to be proven. In the end, one woman will face her fears to stand and fight.
Gina Santiago is a member of an elite tactical team in charge of protecting the world. She’s devoted her life to apprehending the most heinous criminals that prey on society—and now she’s after the worst one yet.
On her own, with no backup, the trail takes her to a dusty, tight-knit town on the fringes of society, where everyone’s a suspect. Even the sexy sheriff, Morgan Hunter, isn’t telling her everything.
The closer Gina comes to finding out the secret of this sleepy little town and its big, bad sheriff, the more
scared she gets—because she’s beginning to realize that she has a secret, too. A secret that will change her life…and make her the killer’s next prey.
It’s not out until November, but I suspect this could be a future BOMContest prize.
KindleYou can see a larger version here…for some reason, cutting and pasting the larger code isn’t working. ![]()
Still, it’s cool. You can make one here
KindleSince I’m still suffering from under-deadline-from-hellitis, I’m not spending as much time on the blog. Also gotta start organizing for Alaska-less than 20 days!
Just a reminder about the contest for bloggers for the MISSING
Also looking for guest bloggers…reader, writer, you can review a movie, a book, doesn’t matter, just something to help me fill the empty pages while I’m scarce. help me out! shilohwalker(at)gmail.com
Don’t worry, I’ll be back to annoying people shortly.
