Swag giveaway!

*waves* Hey all, Nicole here. I’ve been super super busy and not around too much, as Shiloh can tell you :).  Other than RL keeping me busy, I was busy at a couple of conventions.  In early June I went to Lori Foster’s annual reader/author get together and I actually just returned from Authors After Dark.  Each convention was a blast. I got to meet a lot of great readers, authors and bloggers.  I was also fortunate enough to come away with a LOT of swag and what not.  In fact, my roommate might kill me if I keep it all….so my loss is YOUR gain!  It isn’t a lot, but I want to share it with you fabulous readers.  Up for grabs is an Ellora’s Cave bag (it’d be a great gym bag or bag for the pool/beach for flip flops, wet suits etc).  There are a lot of book marks (some signed by the author), an EC 2013 wall calendar (which has some yummy men for each month, definately NSFW he he) and various other items that I just can’t list out.  I’d take a pic but really there’s so much stuff that a pic couldn’t do it justice.

Heads up guys, this is *my* contest, not one from Shiloh, so nothing signed from her.  The swag bag itself can only be shipped US only.  But…if you’re international feel free to enter.  If you win, Shiloh has been kind enough to offer one of her ebooks in lieu of the swag bag. As such, if the winner is international, I will not be drawing a name for a US winner.  I’ll use the bag another time.  The usual contest rules apply. By entering you acknowledge you have read and agree to the terms. I’ll keep the contest open until August 27, 2012 and the winner will be announced later that week.  All you need to do to enter is tell me which convention, if any, you attended or will attend this year or which convention you hope to attend in 2013 or which one is on your reader “bucket list”.    And now I’m going to go take a nap ha ha!

Update 8/28/12: Contest is CLOSED.  Thanks for all the responses! Stay tuned for the winner announcement 🙂

  1. I was hoping to go to RomantiCon but son #2 graduates from Basic two weeks before so that’s out of the question now.

  2. I so want to attend a big convention at some point.
I did go to a Library convention and a few comic conventions where I was lucky enough to meet some great authors like Anne Rice and Marjorie M. Liu.

  3. I would LOVE to attend any. With work and life it’s hard so I live out my fantasies through these books and maybe someday I will get to meet these fantastic phenomenal writers!!!! Love Elloras Cave!!

  4. I would love to attend any conference. I tend to have panic attacks in crowds (not fun) so I am hoping to start with a smaller one such as Lori Foster’s. The fact that it is just 1 state away from my home helps too.

  5. I attended both Lori Foster’s Get Together and Authors After Dark. Loved the both. Went to RT for the weekend, but it’s a little too much for me. Love the cozier conventions. I plan to attend Lori Foster’s next year. Not sure what else.

    Thanks for the contest,

  6. Wish I could attend any convention but for some reason they are never in Canada

  7. I’m glad you had a great time at the contests, Nicole! This year I’m going to my first con but it’s not a romance/reader con, it’s a local anime/manga con. I’d love to go to Comic Con, K-con, Authors After Dark, Readers and Ritas, RT Booklovers, Lori Foster’s etc… I’d love to go to any of them! Thanks for the giveaway!

  8. I’ve never attended a convention or conference, but would love to go to Authors After Dark in New Orleans.

  9. The Lori Foster get together or RWA would be my choices. All of the conventions always sound like so much fun. Hopefully I will get to one some day.

  10. I got to attend my very first convention this year. It was the RWA. I’m hoping to attend the convention next year in Atlanta… Please keep your fingers crossed for me!!!!

  11. I’m going to have to attend one of these reading conventions one day. It sounds like so much fun, especially the RWA literary signing. So many authors to meet!

  12. I haven’t been to any conventions. If one was around me and I was able to go though I would. The conventions sounds like a lot of fun.

  13. I would love to attend any of them. I haven’t been to one before. You shold try to schedule one for Colorado.

  14. If I could, I would attend RWA every year–the two times I’ve gone I’ve had an absolute BLAST.

After that, I’d love to attend RT at least once–so many past scandals, I want to see first hand whether there’s any merit to the fuss. 😉

  15. I go to Readers Luncheons in Alabama – Southern Magic in November. Sometimes i go to free booksigning Moonlight & Magnolias in Atlanta – I’m poor. I HOPE to go to book event next year in Atlanta for RWA 🙂

  16. i would love to go to any of them because i can’t ever get out of oklahoma!!!

  17. June–you should totally come to Lori’s! If you do, make sure to say hi!
Melanie–RomCon is always in Denver ;). I think it’s in the fall, too but I’d have to double check. It’s on my list of ones to hopefully get to in the next couple years *G*.
Jennifer Beck–RT is in Kansas City next year, so that may be something you could get to, even if for only the public signing (which is a lot of fun).
Also, there are probably a whole lot of smaller cons in various places that occur. Local RWA chapters likely would have info for more localized events. RT and RWA are pretty pricey and things like Lori Foster’s, Lora Leigh’s thing in MD, etc are more budget friendly and are just as fun (and you tend to get more time to chat with the authors…). So it never hurts to do some poking around on the internet ;).

  18. Have not heard of any author conventions in Sydney, but it would be great to attend one.

  19. I love going to RomCon out in Denver. I go to RWA’s literacy signing only if it is near me. On my bucket list is Lori Foster’s, I hear it is great.
