Sometimes, I just love being me…

Yes… this is a teasing post.  Be warned.  So at RWA 2010, I got to meet a lot of new people.  One of them was Allison Pang.  Who was with her… damn it, I can’t remember, but we were talking books and Allison’s book came up and I wanted it and the person with us said… “You should let her have an ARC.  If she likes it, she’ll tell everybody.”

*G*

Well.  Allison did just that.  And I liked it.  Actually, I loved it.  It’s kind of put me in the mind of Emma Bull’s War for the Oaks… and War for the Oaks is one of the best works out there.  Period, IMO.

The book isn’t out yet.  So I’ll talk about it more when it is.  But I wanted to give you a heads up… *G* (and yes, I wanted to tease.)

Blurb:

The man of her dreams might be the cause of her nightmares.

Six months ago, Abby Sinclair was struggling to pick up the pieces of her shattered life. Now, she has an enchanted iPod, a miniature unicorn living in her underwear drawer, and a magical marketplace to manage. But despite her growing knowledge of the OtherWorld, Abby isn’t at all prepared for Brystion, the dark, mysterious, and sexy-as- sin incubus searching for his sister, convinced Abby has the key to the succubus’s whereabouts. Abby has enough problems without having this seductive shape-shifter literally invade her dreams to get information. But when her Faery boss and some of her friends vanish, as well, Abby and Brystion must form an uneasy alliance. As she is sucked deeper and deeper into this perilous world of faeries, angels, and daemons, Abby realizes her life is in as much danger as her heart—and there’s no one she can trust to save her.

  1. Yes! I’ve been waiting for more recs from you. I’ve put this one on the list. Sounds good; who doesn’t need a unicorn in their underwear drawer 😉

I’ve been reading the StarDoc books as slowly as possible to make them last, but I’ve finally reached the amazing, amazing end. Is there anything else in the genre you would recommend? I’ve been trying to ease in, but I have no clue where to start.

  2. Eh, as far as SF, there’s nothing else like SL Viehl. Athough Linnea Sinclair has some really good stuff. I’ve only read a few, can’t recall the titles. And Ann Aguirre’s Jax books. Try those. 🙂

  3. Cool! This is actually the book I’d picked to read for January in The Qwillery’s Debut Author challenge. Now I’m really looking forward to it! 🙂
