Crazy Hot ~the first BOMC~

crazyhotlarge.jpgToday, I’m kicking off a new blog contest, a regular one.

Each month, I’ll pick a book to talk about.  I’m going to try to stick to ones I’m either reading currently or recently finished.  (If I get lazy and don’t get as much reading done, I’ll still do the contest…I’ll just select an old fave or one I’m looking forward to).

There will be one winner each month. Winners will be selected from those who participate in the current BOMC discussion . The end of the month, the contest ends.  At the beginning of the month, the new contest starts.  Any questions?  Feel free to ask in the comments section.

This month’s book will be Crazy Hot by Tara Janzen. I’ll draw a name from all those who comment here and we’ll decide on the prize once I draw the winner. Could be an unsigned copy of this book…if you already have it, we might try one of mine.

I picked up Crazy Hot when I was at my local bookstore.  Like most of my books, it sat in my TBR pile for a while.  Now I’m wondering WHY!  It’s so damn good.  I have a habit of reading more paranormal than anything and I forget how much I enjoy a good, straight romantic suspense.

I’m only about a quarter into it.  For some odd reason, I figured I should do some work today, but I did get to read a little more while I was at  *choke choke gasp gasp* IRS office. Otherwise, I would have devoured it in one sitting.

Who has read this?  Did you love it as much as I’m loving it?

  1. Hello Shiloh,

Honestly I have not read this one yet. I did read about it though and it sure does sounds good. Would love to read this one. I will check it out I know my library has it so I will pick up a copy and come back and let you know what I thought 🙂

  2. This was a great book and after I was done with it I went out and found her other books in the series. I read it a while ago but I remember that I liked both the hero and heroine. If I remember correctly the heroine is the responsible one and the hero and heroine had met years earlier when the heroine’s grandfather had a program for troubled teens.

  3. Do you mean I need to finally put Crazy hot off my bookshelf and read it? lol I’ve had it since the summer when a friend raved about it but picked up Crazy Hot and Crazy Cool but read neither.

Will make it my commute book of the week and come back and comment in a day or two.

  4. Hi Shiloh,
I’ve not read this one yet but it sounds interesting. After reading your blog, I went and looked it up and read the blurb and excerpt. Like you, I tend to read more paranormal than anything. Then I pick up a contemporary or a romantic suspense and think, Oh yeah, I love these too…. You could say I get stuck in ruts where I only read one type of book until something grabs my attention and leads me to the next “rut”. Luckily with reading, each rut is fun and entertaining!
    🙂
This is a great idea for a contest and I look forward to seeing the new books each month in the future!
    Hugs, Robin S.

  5. Hmm! Sounds intersting. I think I’ll check out a copy! I’ve got TONS on my TBR list but with three little ones I find it hard to even get to it! By the time I can sit down to read, I fall asleep within the first few pages!

  6. I haven’t read it yet,it’s in my TBR pile like so many other books. I wish that I read faster then maybe I could put a dent in it.

  7. I haven’t read any of that series and I’m not sure why. I’ve looked at them in bookstores several times and keep putting them back. Maybe I need to buy one! (It needs to be the first one though. I HAVE to read things in order!)

  8. 🙂 I have read it! I loved it. And I loved the rest in the series as well.

    Great choice for the month.

  9. I am with you Chris. Have read all of the series and this one was one of my favorites. Need to dig it out of the stack and refresh my memory, but Tara does a great job combining humor, romance, suspense and some really cool gadgets.

  10. I must admit I haven’t read this one yet, with so many others on my TBR pile. It sounds like a good read though!

  11. I have read the complete “Crazy” Series by Tara…I love the first few books but the last 2 of the series I was completely disappointed. Crazy Sweet was written almost like she was just tired and wanted to just be done.

  12. You’ve just picked up the first book in the series so you have 5 more books to read, lol.

  13. I love the book and have been looking forward to reading the rest of the series but they have been sitting in my TBR pile.

  14. I like the title. I am going to have to check this one out. I haven’t heard anything about it but like you I normally read paranormals. But sometimes read other types of books just for a change. I’ll let you know after I read the blurb and maybe an excerpt.

  15. I haven’t read CRAZY HOT yet, but my sister has read the CRAZY series and recommended them to me numerous times. I might have to check them out. I didn’t realize there were so many of them.

  16. Forgot to say this BOMC sounds like it is going to be fun…I am always curious about what others are reading.

  17. I started reading this series about 9 months ago. I loved all of them. It is set here in Denver, so it was easy to imagine the things she describes. Tara is a local author and the guns she describes do really exist. I enjoyed all of the books except for the last one in the series.

  21. Crap! Now I’m going to have to add another book to my TBB list lol

I keep picking this up in the bookstore then putting it back down. I’m not sure why … just haven’t got around to buying it yet.

  22. Shiloh, I have this one and its in my TBR too and have been putting it off too. Is it the first in thie series? You know too, I been reading lots of paranormals lately which have been some fab reads, but too pick up a western historical and it feels so good to read (love historicals too) and now that I think of it, its been a while since I read a contemp! So maybe this is what I should pick up next to read!

I heard too she wrote some historicals in the past I think under Glenna McReynolds. I remember reading the first, a very rich medieval so almost historical fiction with paranormal in it.

I love chatting books so i’m so looking forward to chatting each time with you.

  23. wow…. okay, so you all either like discussing books or you like contests… *G* Or both? Probably.

For those who haven’t picked it up but have seen it…. I did the same thing practically since it was released and now I wish I hadn’t. Go on… go get it, you know you want to. ;o)

If it’s in the TBR, I think it deserves a bump or two up. Well, unless that means putting aside one of mine to do so. If it does, read mine THEN read this one. *G*

  24. No, I haven’t read this book yet. Like Erin, I need to add another book to my TBB list.

  25. “wow…. okay, so you all either like discussing books or you like contests… *G* Or both? Probably.”

    For me it is both…LOL

  26. I loved this book and the rest of them (haven’t read the last one yet though). The series was a lot of fun to read.

  27. Haven’t read this but is sounds really good. Like you I read and buy more paranormal then anything else but I have been trying to read more suspense lately because have enjoyed what I have read.

  28. Crazy Hot was the best of the series. I read the first five books of the series last year. I was so disappointed with the fifth one, that I didn’t read the last book in the series.

  29. I read the first five books in the series over a couple of weeks last June. I agree that Crazy Love was a bit disappointing, but I love these books. As for Crazy Hot, I liked it, it whetted my appetite for more, but my favorite is Crazy Cool, the next one.

  30. This is an awesome read and a great introduction to the series. I’ve read them all, but my favourite was the first one that I read ~ #3 I believe, CRAZY WILD. I loved Creed Rivera; something about the dark tortured heroes that I respond to.
I totally love the muscle cars ~ and they’re a great counterpoint to the guys! Kid’s story ~ CRAZY KISSES ~ was another gripping story; and I liked the carry over from WILD.
The first four books made more of an emotional impact on me which I really liked; the last two LOVE and SWEET were ‘more tech’ less touch’ than their predecessors, but still they held my interest. And I really did want to know Dylan & Scooter’s and Travis & Red Dog’s stories.
All in all, the series is a keeper and already a re-read.

  31. No, have not read it. Don’t have the funds to buy all I’d Like to read..

  32. No, I think Creed is the next one in the series for you Shiloh. I have read all of them and gotta agree, the last two dragged a little. I’m glad to see others felt the same. I thought they were slow to me because I had been reading our favorite Warden before before the last 2 and she tends to spoil me for other writers. Except you of course–no comparisions–I promise 😉

  33. PS, My hubby thinks you are the greatest writer in the whole wide world, and he has never read even one sentence of any of your books.

  34. Hello Shi,

Honestly I love contest gives me a chance to win a book and read about new authors. I also do love discussing about books. It’s always fun and a nice way to hear about what others think of the book.

  35. I hadn’t heard of Tara Janzen before. So, I checked out her website. I think her books sound fun, so I’ll have to add her name to my authors list.

  36. I haven’t read any of Tara Janzen’s Crazy series. They do sound interesting. It was nice to read other opinions on your blog to know which ones were good reads! 🙂

  37. I just love Tara books the new one coming out ‘On the Loose’ sounds as good as the rest.I think it might be the best.

  38. I haven’t read it yet but I have read some of her other “crazy” titles and they were super!

  39. I haven’t read it yet, but it looks good. In fact, the whole series looks very atractive and I have read great comments about them.

  40. Tara Janzen is an excellent writer, I have read this one and the others in the series, they are entertaining and leave you wanting more.

  41. Tara Jenson is an excellent writer, I have read this one and the others in the series, they are entertaining and leave you wanting more.

  42. I haven’t read this book and I’m not familiar with the author but the story definitely sounds interesting.

  43. No, I’m sorry to say I have not read it. It sounds great and I will have to head to Border’s to get a copy.

  44. Crazy Hot, hmm i haven’t heard of it, but i would love to read it. I admit it i buy books with awesome covers, how did this one slip through my fingers i haven’t the faintest idea. I’m going to check out some reviews of it and ……….FIND it. Wahoo!
